Ricardo Pinzón and Jorge Andrade: a podcast on photography in Colombia

It was a very special experience to take part in the podcast hosted by Jorge Andrade, a new and much-needed space dedicated to conversations about photography in Colombia. I am deeply grateful to Jorge for inviting me and for having me as a guest on the very first episode of his channel. It is something I truly value—not only for the recognition, but for the opportunity to share an honest conversation about what drives us as photographers.

This new podcast opens an important channel for dialogue within the Colombian photography community. Initiatives like this help give visibility to the work of photographers in the country, acknowledge the processes behind the images, and offer insight into how each photographer builds their visual voice through personal experience, environment, and sensitivity.

During the conversation with Jorge, we discussed many topics: my early years in editorial photography, how the professional landscape has changed over time, the projects that have inspired me, and the importance of maintaining authenticity—even within commercial commissions. It was a relaxed and thoughtful exchange, marked by the warmth of someone who truly understands the craft from the inside.

Once again, I thank Jorge for opening this space and for launching his channel with a conversation that goes beyond the professional, touching on the human dimension behind the photographer.
